The partnership between the McConnell Dowell SRG Joint Venture, SA Water and Flinders University reflects strong governance through responsible industry–education collaboration. Clear supervision, mentoring accountability, and alignment between academic learning objectives and project delivery outcomes demonstrate ethical workforce development and leadership stewardship.

Recently, four undergraduate engineers completing their Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements with the McConnell Dowell SRG Joint Venture (MDJV) had the opportunity to represent the JV at Flinders University’s annual WIL Showcase.
The students are embedded across SA Water’s growth program, gaining hands-on experience on active infrastructure projects that are enabling housing growth, while contributing directly to project outcomes. Their Showcase displays highlighted not just what they are learning, but the real value they’re bringing to our delivery teams.
This year, MDJV had the largest number of undergraduates represented at the event – reflecting our strong partnership with Flinders University and our commitment to developing future engineering capability.
A special thank you to Area Managers Chris Di Girolamo, Timothy De Gennaro and Nestor Sequera Paez for their ongoing mentorship and support, which continues to shape the students’ practical learning and growth.
